The Quarry

about

Good things come to those who walk through sweaty North Carolina jungle...

lyrics

The stomach was full with a burger or two
and the air was as thick as a blanket
A sign by the path said: "There's a mile to go."
til you make it down to the water
Walk through the woods with the snakes and the birds
and the sweat behind your knee caps and you'll know

You're in Durham

Down at the quarry, by the Eno river

Well I put on my shorts, they were brighter than butter
and I jumped into that water
A hundred-foot deep, and it's riddled with catfish, crayfish and minnows
So I strapped on my gills, and my flippers and fins
and joined my new friends at the bottom

Well I knew I was in Durham

Down at the quarry, by the Eno river
